Abaqus, a general-purpose finite-element analysis software, provides a user-interface to develop subroutines through UMAT (User-defined Material) as well as to explore a wide range of physical problems by defining various material behaviors.
 
This book offers a comprehensive reference manual for researchers, engineers, or students interested in material behavior simulation. It explains how to correctly use UMAT to develop corresponding programs within the framework of relevant theoretical structures. In addition to practical applications for engineers, it can also serve as a material model implementation textbook for students in materials science, solid mechanics, and biomedicines.
