Selected Papers of Mosei Lin

Mosei Lin is widely considered an influential thinker and a significant philosopher of education in the history of Taiwanese people. However, his major writings are scattered across various publications, some of which have never been available in Chinese. To bridge the gap in the literature of Taiwan’s intellectual history and to honour him as a thinker in his own right, this collection of documents compiles seven of Lin’s academic works and transcripts from public speeches, written betwen 1916 and 1945, along with two general introductions to his thought and his role as a public intellectual, and four scholarly chapters each addressing to a particular aspect of his system of philosophy. Together, these writings constitute a rich tapestry of Lin’s system of thought and invite a deeper appreciation of him as a philosopher.
